How lucky are we to celebrate all of these years together? We started out as a "unique boutique for women who love being women". We have made so many important relationships along the way. That's what being a woman is about after all.
Let's start from the beginning. Be kind. Be giving. Be great. It wasn't a slogan. It was our way of life but it is also what separated us from the others. We rallied the troops. We didn't know what we were doing but somehow it worked. These women were kind of our building blocks.
If there is one thing that we can say about our photo shoots, there is no shortage of laughter or personality!
Sometimes we dance. Almost all the time, something strange or crazy happens! It's never guaranteed what will happen at one of our eventful photo shoots, but one thing that's for sure is that it's going to be worth snapping a photo. Each SugarBelle photo shoot is executed right down to the "T" but we know things change and we embrace it! We plan weeks in advance but we surely have been faced with some exciting and challenging times. Ever heard of a little storm called Hurricane Matthew? That was a doozy! We've definitely weathered a storm or two.
SugarBelle has also gone through many different seasons. Seasons of changes. We moved from our tiny little store on Ribault to our store now on Boundary! Boy was that a challenge! We've had amazing, amazing staff that have moved on to bigger and better things (some are still with us and we love them for hanging in). We've changed our models here and there because these women too have had changes of their own. We can't begin to count on our two hands how many of our SugarBelles have had babies of their own since we've opened. Some have moved away from our little tiny town to bigger cities and we miss them so.
We've made joyful noises! We've danced anyway. We've supported our community and those we love. We've made spirits bright and shared the wonder. Oh what fun it is to be a SugarBelle!
Heck, we've even had photo shoots and asked men to climb in trees!
These women aren't paid models, oh no ma'am. They are handpicked from our sweet little town of Beaufort. Whether they're a true local or they just got here, that doesn't matter to us. Their size, color of their hair, what they ate for breakfast that morning...none of that shows to us more than their heart. We all have different political stances but the only stance we care about is the confidence and the glimmer in their eye. We value our models and the experiences that we get to share with them.
Wherever we've been and wherever we're going, we thank you for being a part of our journey and our vision for our sweet little store. We strive for progress, not always perfection. We hope you've enjoyed a little collection of our many images from over the years! The best is yet to come!
